Under the Dhaka Division of Bangladesh, there are 17 districts available, and Munshiganj is one of them. Also this district is just adjacent to the Capital City Dhaka. Long time back this district was renowned as "Bikrampur" or "Vikrampur". Now a days, people of that places still feel proud to call them from "Bikrampur".

How to reach:
There are several transport is available from Dhaka to Munshiganj. The best two bus services are "Nayan Paribahan" and "Dhaka Transport", both of the buses used to start from "Gulistan" of dhaka. It will cost you 30-40 taka, and will require 1 hrs to 2 hrs bus journey depending upon the road traffic. Also there are other bus service is available from "Postogola" of dhaka, one of the bus is "Gangchil" available from that area.
Also you can hire CNG auto rickshaw from the "Postogola", and it will take you 250-350 to take you at Muktarpur bridge. Remember, if you are hiring CNG, make sure who will provide the toll of the bridge. For you information, the toll fee is 20 taka. So negotiate with the driver of CNG about who will provide the toll.
