War of Liberation In Serajdikhan Upazila


Archaeological heritage and relics A single domed mosque of Mughal period at Kusumpur (Talukdar Bari Mosque), Tajpur Mosque, Patharghata Mosque, Kazishal Mosque, Pulghata Bridge, Math at village Fegnasar, Math at the house of Kankata De at village Tajpur, Panchasikhar Mahadeva Mandir at Taltala. A large shiva-linga (phallus of the God Shiva) is placed inside this temple.
Historical events The anti-British movement was very strong in this upazila. The Congress activists used to make bombs at village Ichhapur and Madhyapara villages and distributed these to the activists of the adjacent areas. While making bombs at village Madhyapara there occurred the incidental explosion of a bomb. At the intelligence of the explosion a military camp of the British Gorkha soldiers was set up at the junction of three roads on the western side of Ichhapura Bazar in order to suppress terrorist activities. In 1971 Abdul Aziz of village Shialdi was shot dead for uttering the slogan 'Jai Bangla' at the sight of the Pak army. Abdul Aziz was the first martyr of the upazila in the war of liberation. On 27 March 1971, the freedom fighters took control over the police station and captured all arms and ammunitions. On 19 May, the Pak army again took control of the thana. On 20 May, the Pak army killed a number of teachers of the upazila. On November 19, an encounter was held between the freedom fighters and the Pak army at the thana compound in which one Pak soldier and one razakar were killed.'

Details Information Of Baba Adam's Mosque


Baba Adam’s Mosque is a Jami Mosque situated in the village of Kazi Qasba under Rikabibazar Union in Rampal thana of Munshiganj District in Bangladesh. It was built in 1483 A.D. The mosque was constructed as a Jami mosque by Malik Kafur. The grave of Saint Baba Adam Shahid stands near by the mosque. The mosque is named after Saint Baba Adam Shahid.

History

The mosque is the only surviving example in the ancient Hindu settlement of Rampal upazilla in Munshiganj district. It is named after locally famous Saint Baba Adam Shahid, who died in a holy war against a local Hindu Raja. The mosque was built in 888A.H/1483-84 A.d by Malik Kafur during the origin of Sultan Jalal al-din Fath Shah (Ahmed 1960:118). The grave of Saint Baba Adam Shahid stands near by the mosque. Baba Adam's Mosque is now a protected monument under the Department of Archaeology, Bangladesh. It has been renovated and is in a comparatively good state of preservation. Sourabh Singh Sumal 
Architecture
This mosque with six bays and a rectangular plan (10.35*11.45 sq. m) is covered by six domes of identical height. The six domes are placed in two rows. The arches of the mosque belong to the pointed double-centre style. There are three attractive arches in the eastern façade of the mosque, and there are three mihrabs in the western wall straight opposite to the arches. Baba Adam mosque differs from the contemporary Gaudiya brick structures. There are moulding, shallow niches, and string courses in the outer wall.[5] All the entrances and mihrabs are recessed within rectangular frames. The south and north walls contain rectangular niches. The mosque does not have a minaret. On both sides of the central doorway there are two multi-cusped rectangular panels. The arches are supported on faceted small pillars and decorated with a beautiful terracotta floral design and a hanging motif. This type of facade decoration is also found in shahjadpur mosque (Serajganj).
Baba adam mosque (In bengali: বাবা আদম মসজিদ) is situated in Munshiganj Sadar, Munshiganj (bikrampur). which was built in the remember of Shaheed Baba Adam (A.S.). This mosque was built in 1483 by Mugal ruler. 

Baba Adam was a Islam preacher. He was born in 1099 in mecca, saudi arabia. He came to the bikrampur when it was the capital of ancient bengal. When he came to the ancient bikrampur its ruler was Ballal sen. When baba adam came here a war took placed between baba adam and ballal sen. Baba adam was myrter by Balla Sen. After 200 years of his death this mosque was built in the remember of him.

Imdadul Haq Milon 
 (Bengali: ইমদাদুল হক মিলন; born 8 September 1955) is a Bangladeshi novelist and editor of the daily Kaler Kantho.
Early life and education
Born in Bikrampur, Milon spent his childhood with his maternal grandmother. He then moved to Gendaria in Dhaka. He wrote his first story Bondhu in 1973. Bangla Academy's Uttaradhikar magazine published his first novel Jabojjibon. Milon graduated from Jagannath University.
Career
Milon authored books on classic stories, historical writings, romantic stories and other genres. He also works as a TV personality in a talk show called Ki Kotha Tahar Sone.

The Free Encyclopedia Gazaria Upazila


The Pakistan government established the Dhaka-Chittagong High way through the locality. Gazaria Thana was turned into an upazila in 1983.Gazaria is mainly composed of alluvial land around the Meghna river. The locality became a part of Tippara Thana under the Assam District during British rule. Gazaria became the part of Munshiganj Thana in 1946 and the independent Gazaria Thana was established in 1954.
War of Independence
In May 1971, the Pakistani army entered Gazaria by river. A raid on the village of Goshairchar on 9 May killed more than four hundred people. The army proceeded to Bhaberchar where they also killed eleven sheltering in a ditch. Other villages in the area were attacked in the same raid.
Bangladeshi soldiers from Gazaria fought at Bhabercha, Baluakand and Baushia under the leadership of Rafiqul Islam and interrupted communication along the highway by destroying the bridge at Bhaterchar in August 1971, obstructing the advancement of the Pakistani army.
In 2011 the Local Government constructed a memorial at Gosairchar.
Geography
Gazaria Upazila is located at 23.5417°N 90.6083°E, covering a total area of 130.92 km². It is the Meghna River delta, which separates it from the district headquarters of Munshiganj. Two bridges connect it with the mainland: the Meghna Bridge in the west, and the Meghna-Gomotee Bridge in the east. The Kajali river flows through the district.
Demographics
According to the 1991 Bangladesh census, Gazaria had a population of 128,368.
Literacy rate
Gazaria has a literacy rate of 32.7% (counting people over the age of 7), compared to national figures of 32.4%.

History And Famous Person Of Munshiganj District


Bikrampur (Munshiganj) was the political and cultural centre of ancient Bengal. It was officially known as Bikrampur until 1986 and was part of Dhaka District. The remains of the city of Bikrampur, the capital of the ancient kingdoms of southeastern Bengal, are lost and its location can only be guessed on the basis of available data. The area comprising the districts of Munshiganj stretching on the west of the Meghna and Dhaleshwari had been included in the kingdom of vikramapura in the ancient period. During the Sena rule Vikramapura in East Bengal had been the second capital of the Senas in addition to their capital at Nadia. After the fall of Nadia in the hands of bakhtiyar khalji (1204) the Sena King lakshmanasena fled to Vikramapura and began to rule East Bengal. After the death of Lakshmanasena (1206) his descendants Visvarupasena and Kesavasena ruled in Vikramapura till at least 1223 AD. Some historians postulate that the sons of Lakshamanasena ruled in Vikramapura up to 1243-45 AD. Raja Dasarathadeva Danujmadhava (Danuj Rai), the Deva king of Chandradvipa, ousted the Senas from Vikramapura in the third quarter of the thirteenth century and ruled the south-eastern Bengal till the end of the thirteenth century.

Idrakpur fort Munshiganj | Historical Place of Bangladesh

Idrakpur fort (In bengali: ইদ্রাকপুর কেল্লা ) is situated in Munshiganj, Dhaka Division of Bangladesh. It is a well known Historical Place of Bangladesh. It is a mughal structure in Bangladesh. The fort was built by mir jumla who was the subahdar of Bangla under the Mughal Empire. The fort was built in 1660 A.D. 

The present position of Idrakpur fort was a strategically very important junction. Because here was 4 rivers named Meghna River, Ichchamati River, Rhitalkha River and Dhaleshwari River.

The Portuguese and Magh Pirates used this place to attack ships toward Dhaka. To protect Dhaka city Mir Jumla decided to make a fort in Bikrampur (which is now Munshiganj). People think that there was a tunnel between idrakpur fort and Lalbagh fort of Dhaka.
