Munsiganj is one of the districts of Dhaka Division. Today I want to give you some information about Munsiganj.

Now the Details-

Munshiganj Town Information: This town is the district headquarters of Munshiganj district. It consists of 9 wards and 42 mahallas.The area of the town is 14.17 sq km with a population 52071. Among the male are 51.62% and female 48.38%. Literacy rate among the town people is 49.3%.

Major Educational institutions: There are 1 primary training institute and 3 technical training centres. Beside these there are also 16 colleges, 82 high schools and many schools in this district.

Main exports: Potato, banana, paddy, pathal, jute, betel leaf, sweet pumpkin, vegetables, milk, milk food, sack, cotton yarn, copper utensil, bamboo and cane materials.

Sirajdikhan Upazila: A single domed mosque at Kusumpur (Talukdar-bari Mosque, Mughal period), Tajpur Mosque, Patharghata Mosque, Qazishal Mosque, Pulghata Bridge, math at village Fegnasar, math at the house of Kankata De at village Tajpur and Panchasikhar Mahadeva Mandir (temple) at Taltala.
Many Archaeological heritages are missing due to devastating erosion of river Padma.

Descriptive Discuss Of Padma Resort

Padma Resort is one of the most lucrative resorts located at a large island of mighty Padma River at Lohajong, Munshiganj. How to go Padma Resort

Padma Resort is just 7 Km left of Mawa transit point just the opposite bank of Lohajong police station. It may take about 100 minutes from Dhaka to reach Ghordaur Bazaar adjacent to Padma resort if you use private vehicle. If you wish to use public vehicle like Bus to reach Padma Resort, It is better to use Gangchil Paribahan start from Gulistan, Dhaka to reach Ghordaur Bazar. It takes Tk 65/person as hire. From Ghordaur Bazar, Thana-ghat, own boats of the resort are ready to ferry you.

Foods and Drinks

There is a well furnished restaurant maintained by resort authority facilitates foods and drinks for the guests in a panoramic environment. But it’s a little bit costly. As alternative you may take meal in Takdir Hotel or Padma View Food Court in Ghordaur Bazaar. Fresh Hilsha fish from Padma River is available here.

Bikrampur Vihara is an ancient Buddhist vihara at Raghurampur village, Bikrampur, Munshiganj District in Bangladesh.
Location
The monastery is located at Raghurampur village under Rampal Upazila of Munshiganj District.
History
The discovery was declared at 23 March 2013 after four years of excavation conducted jointly by Agrasar Bikrampur Foundation, a local sociocultural organisation, and Archaeology Department of Jahangirnagar University. The excavation was financed by Bangladesh's Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
On 23 March 2013, Director of the Archaeological Excavation and Research in Bikrampur region, declared the discovery of this 1000-year-old Buddhist Vihara. Over 100 precious idols and sculptures have been found till March, 2013.
This is one of the thirty viharas built by Emperor Dharmapala during his regime c. 820 as the second emperor of the Pala Empire. It is connected to Atiśa, an important figure in Tibetan Buddhism During the time of Atiśa, this region was the center of Buddhist education and some 8,000 students and professors came to study at Bikrampur from as far as China, Tibet, Nepal and Thailand.
Central temple
Five rooms of the monks sized 3.5 by 3.5 metres (11 ft × 11 ft) have been excavated so far. The exact size of the monastery however could not be assumed yet.
